Latvian National woman football team prepares for Baltic Cup (+Foto)

Latvian National woman football team has started a preparation process for eventual Baltic Woman Cup tournament that will be held from May 14 - 16 in Siauliai, Lithuania. Latvian team will play against Lithuania and Estonia. As lff.lv informed earlier, this year Latvian Football federation has appointed a new head coach of the Latvian woman national team - Didzis Matīss and assistant - Tatjana Šaļimova.

Ventspils and Skonto FC will meet in the quarter-final of the Latvian Cup

Latvian Cup quaterfinals draw took place today in the Latvian Football federation office with the most intriguing matchup between "FK Ventspils" - "Skonto FC" will be held in Ventspils. In the other matches - "SK Liepājas metalurgs" will host "FK Jelgava", "FK Daugava/RFS" meet "JFK Olimps/RFS", and "FK Jūrmala-VV" takes on "SK Blāzma" Rēzekne. All matches will be played on Wednesday, April 14th.

TrioBet football Baltic League is ready to kick off with quarter finals on 6. and 7. April as clubs from all three Baltic nations are still in the run for the trophy. On Tuesday, 6. April FC Flora Tallinn, top of the table in Estonia after five Meistriliiga rounds, will host the defending Lithuanian champion FK Ekranas Panevežys at Sportland Arena's artificial turf. In the other match of the day Lithuanian last year's runner-up FK Vetra Vilnius hosts Latvian silver medalist FK Ventspils in Sportima indoor hall. Both matches kick off at 19.00 with Vetra – Ventspils clash airing live on Viasat Sport Baltic.
