The TrioBet Baltic League first leg matches of round one were played on Tuesday and Wednesday. The first results predict a highly competitive league season, as all teams retain a realistic chance to progress to the quarterfinals.
Lithuanian teams remained undefeatable, as Tauras, Ekranas as well as Suduva recorded wins, while Vetra and Šiauliai drew their matches. All Latvian sides, with the exception of Jurmala’s 1-3 loss to Ekranas, picked up a win from the fixtures.
The success of their southern neighbours meant a low for Estonia’s leading teams – four out of the participating five succumbed to defeats. Flora was flying the flag for Estonia, as the 1-1 draw away against Šiauliai away leaves them optimistic for the home leg.
