Latvia Under-21 team started the UEFA 2011 European championship qualifying with an impressive victory against Andorra 4:0.
The Latvian U-21 team was the favourite before the game and this was clearly seen on the pitch. Latvia played much more with the ball from the first minutes of the game, while their opponents played defensive football.
However, 950 spectators in Riga had the first big cheer of the day only in 42th minute, when referee showed red card for Andorra player, and a penalty was scored by Latvian forward Edgars Gauračs. In last three first half minutes nothing changed and after first part of the game the score was 1:0.
The second goal came in 71th minute, when Artjoms Rudnevs used the chaos near the opponents (2:0), but three minutes later Ritvars Rugins came with the third goal for Latvia (3:0).
But it was not the end – in the last minute of the match Vadims Žuļevs scored a wonderful goal, with a fantastic strike from 24 meters.
