Current Latvian champions "FK Ventspils" will take part in the 27th Football Cup of CIS and Baltic states that will take place from 17 to 25 January in Moscow.

The team of Roman Grygorchuk will play against "Turku Inter" (Finland), "Dordoi-Dinamo" (Kyrgyzstan) and "Baku Inter" (Azerbaijan) in the group stage while two teams qualify for the knock-out matches. 

The group matches will be held in SK Olympiysky stadium and Dinamo stadium. Champions of Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will play in Group A. Group B consists of Turkmenistan, Belarus, Lithuania and youth national team of Russia. Ukraine, Moldova, Estonia and Tajikistan play in Group C. Azerbaijan, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan and Finland make up Group D.
