20.01.09 Latvian Youth U-17 national team has lost it's first friendly match on Tuesday, January 20 against Estonian side (2:3) that has come to Latvia for a training camp.
Both teams will meet again on Thursday, January 22 in Riga Olympic Sports centre hall (Grostonas street 6b). Kickoff time - 12:00.

FK Ventspils represents Latvia in the CIS Cup 2009
19.01.09 Current Latvian champions "FK Ventspils" will take part in the 27th Football Cup of CIS and Baltic states that will take place from 17 to 25 January in Moscow.
The team of Roman Grygorchuk will play against "Turku Inter" (Finland), "Dordoi-Dinamo" (Kyrgyzstan) and "Baku Inter" (Azerbaijan) in the group stage while two teams qualify for the knock-out matches.

Star names move on in Latvia

Latvian Youth team in the international tournament in Minsk
11.01.09 Latvian youth national team (players born in 1992) from January 11-17 will participate in the 5th Youth internetional tournament organized by BFF in the capital of Belarus.
Latvia will play against Russia, Italy and Finland at the group stage with matches for the places to played in January 17.

03.01.09 Latvian national team and "FK Ventspils" goalkeeper Andris Vanins successfully played at the legendary stadium "San Siro". The best goalkeeper of Latvia in 2008 participated in the charitable friendly match within the framework of the campaign "Goal for peace", in which the team of world ambassadors played versus the national team of Iraq.

LATVIA - Baltic Futsal Cup champions 2008 (+Foto)
02.01.09 Latvian National futsal team crowned Baltic Futsal champions as the such tournament between Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian national futsal teams was organised for the first time in the history at the end of December, 2008 in Ogre.
Aleksandrs Sketovs side showed a good quality game during both tournament days and overcame Estonia (13:0) and Lithuania (4:1) to take the first place in this historical even for Baltic futsal and hope to become a tradition in the future.
