Latvian national futsal team took one of the available berths in next month's UEFA European Futsal Championship qualifying main round after the conclusion of the preliminary round on Sunday, February 22th.
Latvia needed a draw against Bulgaria to deny the Group B hosts first place in Varna, and won 3-2 thanks to Sergejs Nagibins's second-half winner to progress through a round for the first time with a record of three consecutive wins in the group.
Latvia will now go to Ostrava in March to play the host Czech Republic, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina with a hope of making a dream come true of qualifying to the European futsal final tournament in Hungary in January 2010.
