Kaspars Gorkšs and Sintija Greijere named best in Latvia, Grebis - best in LMT Virslīga

On Friday, December 18th in Latvian Football federation's organised "Gala evening of 2009 football season" were named winners in overall 18 nominations in Latvian football of the season 2009.
"Queens Park Rangers" and Latvian national team defender Kaspars Gorkšs has been named as the best player in Latvia, while forward Sintija Greijere from "SK Liepājas metalurgs" took the krown of the best female football player in 2009.

Latvian futsal team squad announced for Finland matches

Latvian national futsal team head coach Artūrs Šketovs has announced a squad who will play two friendly matches against futsal team of Finland in late December. Matches will be held in Kokkola (December 28) and Seinäjoki (December 29).
Šketovs has named 14 players - twelve from both strongest Latvian futsal clubs – „Nikars” and „RABA”, and two players from Cyprus side „SPE Strovolos”.
