On the 1 September former National Team defender, well known football player in Latvia - Mihails Zemlinskis was confirmed as new Latvian National U21 Team head coach. M.Zemlinskis was nominated to the post after his predecessor - Genādijs Šitiks, died of a heart attack at the age of 51.

The hosts beat Lithuanian U-19 1:0 to finish the tournament ahead of their southern neighbours.
There was no opponent for Latvian U-17 national team, who beat Estonia 1:0 and Lithuania 3:1. Estonia and Lithuania settled for a 2:2 draw which was enough for Estonia to finish second in the table.

TrioBet Baltic league 2009/2010 season draw to be held on Monday

Curtains of the third TrioBet Baltic league season will rise on Monday with the presentation of the new competition format and the draw for the 2009/2010 season.
The presentation and draw event will be held in the Olympic Centre of Latvian capital Riga on the 17th of August, starting from 15:00. The draw is scheduled to be made at around 16:00 and after that the organizers of the league will hold a press conference.
